War: In a country where the world doesn’t seem to care
February 25, 2007
The reduction of forces in Iraq is not a move most Americans would disagree with overall. Who really cares about Iraq anyway? Not the world, the UN Security Council failed once before.
What we all really want is our men and women; our loved ones brought home safely.
However, there is a divide as to when the pulling out of our troops should begin to take place.
Currently, Britain is making efforts to reduce its forces by some 1,600 troops within the next few months, as published in the New York Times, citing sources from the Associated Press.
Britain, our major ally is not the only country intended on reducing forces in Iraq, where insurgents and factionists are hell bent on destroying an ancient culture and world stability - before it ever reaches a state of democracy for the mission of peace and freedom.
Denmark, another ally is also making plans to pull out. Many coalition forces have already removed troops over the last several years.
Every democracy has fought for independence from rule by those who wish to control the individual mind, body and spirit – the will of the people.
Over 200 years ago, we fought the British to gain our freedom and independence. The world shares in that victory today. And, today thankfully Britain is one of our closest allies.
When Hitler, a nationalist raised the head of world domination and the destruction of a people, the world stood together and took him down. Because the world’s efforts were combined, his regime toppled, leaving communism in parts of Europe as the next negative force to be eliminated.
Europe is now free.
When the world came together in assembly of the United Nations Security Council, it was faced with the decision to take down Saddam Hussein; many stood by idly and many decided to do something about it.
Saddam’s regime was toppled by a coalition force representing some twenty countries, only to be fought by insurgents and factionists whose goal is to destroy the mission of democracy.
The UN let the mission down by not helping to control tyranny against the Iraqi people and the world community, sitting passively as an unbridled passion to kill innocent human beings continues.
Coalition forces have been slowly pulling out of Iraq, including Britain. Are the coalition forces seeing the reality of this dilemma, because the world really doesn’t care about Iraq?
I think maybe so.
America should not stand alone for this international cause and needs to bring back the process of negotiations before the world – the UN. Put the burden back on the world, not America.
Let’s see if the world really cares now. If not, why should America?
